Project coordination

The MINE Junior Research Group is leaded by Simone Cesca at the Institute of Geophysics, University of Hamburg.

Dr. Simone Cesca has a recognized international research experience started in 1998 at University of Milano (Italy), and continued during PhD studies at University Complutense Madrid (Spain). Since then, he participated in different European (Spice) and German (Kinherd, Rapid) research projects, as postdoctoral researcher. He is an expert junior researcher in the fields of seismology and seismic source modeling. His research interests cover all aspects of seismic source inversion, including moment tensor inversion, kinematic inversion and applications to volcanic, geothermal areas and induced seismicity. Within the field of microseismicity monitoring he is interested in the problem of source location, event characterization, source inversion, recognition of spatio-temporal clusters, stress modeling and tomography.
